These rules exist to protect the quality of roleplay for everyone. Ignorance is not a defense — by connecting to LifeRP you agree to all of the following.
Staff discretion applies. Rules cannot cover every situation. Staff rulings are based on the spirit of the rules, not loopholes in their wording. "It's not technically against the rules" is not a defense.
1.General Conduct
1.1
Respect all players. Harassment, discrimination, hate speech, or targeted toxicity toward any player — in-game or in Discord — results in immediate removal.
1.2
No cheating or exploiting. Any use of third-party software, duplication glitches, map exploits, or unintended mechanics is a permanent ban. Report bugs to staff instead of abusing them.
1.3
One account per player. Ban evasion with alternate accounts extends your ban permanently.
1.4
Age requirement. You must be 16 or older to play on LifeRP. Whitelisted faction leadership positions require 18+.
1.5
English in global channels. Local/in-character conversations in other languages are fine, but global communications and reports must be in English so staff can moderate fairly.
2.Roleplay Standards
2.1
Stay in character (IC) at all times. Breaking character in voice chat is FailRP. Use /ooc or Discord for out-of-character matters.
2.2
No metagaming. Using information your character did not learn in-game (Discord calls, streams, past lives) to gain an advantage is strictly prohibited.
2.3
No powergaming. Forcing outcomes on other players without giving them a chance to respond, roleplaying abilities you don't have, or abusing mechanics to win a scenario.
2.4
Value your life (VYL). Your character fears death. Comply when heavily outnumbered or held at gunpoint at close range. Fail VYL and the scenario may be voided against you.
2.5
Realistic characters only. No trolling characters, meme names, or characters designed to degrade the experience of others. Staff may force a rename or wipe.
2.6
No FailRP driving/flying. Treat vehicles realistically. Ramming at full speed as a weapon, impossible off-road behavior, or suicide flying is FailRP.
2.7
Prohibited RP themes. Sexual assault RP, torture RP without all parties' OOC consent, suicide RP, and any RP involving minors in adult scenarios are strictly forbidden.
3.Combat & Conflict
3.1
No RDM (Random Deathmatch). Killing another player requires clear roleplay initiation and a valid IC reason. "He looked at me funny" is not initiation.
3.2
No VDM (Vehicle Deathmatch). Using a vehicle as a weapon without extensive prior roleplay justification is prohibited.
3.3
Initiation must be clear. The other party must reasonably hear/see your demand and have a realistic chance to comply before you may use lethal force.
3.4
No combat logging. Disconnecting during or immediately after an active scenario (combat, arrest, robbery) to avoid consequences is a ban. Crash? Rejoin and contact the other party or staff immediately.
3.5
No third-partying without involvement. You may only join an active gunfight if your group was initiated on, or you have an established IC reason and initiate properly yourself.
3.6
Group limits. Criminal activity is capped at 6 players per scenario unless it is a scheduled faction war or staff-approved event.
4.New Life Rule (NLR)
4.1
Death wipes memory of the scenario. When your character dies and respawns, they forget the events directly leading to their death and who caused it.
4.2
Stay away. Do not return to the area of your death or re-engage the same scenario for at least 30 minutes.
4.3
Revives are different. If LSFR revives you on scene, your character remembers being injured but not the moments of the incapacitation itself. No calling out your attacker's position while down.
5.Criminal Activity
5.1
Robberies require RP. Player robberies must involve meaningful roleplay — no "hands up or die" drive-bys. You may not rob a player of more than their carried items.
5.2
Hostage situations. Hostages must be real players (no friends acting as fake hostages), must be treated with RP, and scenarios must have realistic demands.
5.3
Major crime cooldowns. Bank/store heists follow server cooldowns and minimum police online requirements shown in-game. Do not start a heist to bait police during another scenario.
5.4
Gangs must be registered. Gang colors, territory claims, and wars are managed through the gang system and Discord tickets. Unregistered groups have no territory rights.
5.5
No cop baiting. Deliberately committing crimes in front of police purely to provoke a chase, with no RP intent, is FailRP.
5.6
Kidnapping limits. Law enforcement may only be kidnapped with significant, escalated RP reason, and never solely to remove them from a heist response.
6.Law Enforcement
6.1
Whitelisted faction. LSSO membership requires an application, interview, and academy. Department SOPs apply in addition to server rules.
6.2
No corrupt cop RP without approval. Corruption storylines require written approval from faction leadership and staff.
6.3
Use of force policy. Officers must follow the escalation of force ladder in the LSSO SOP. Shooting fleeing, unarmed suspects is a rule break, not just an SOP violation.
6.4
No LEO metagaming. Officers may not use OOC info for investigations, and may not camp criminal activity zones without an active call or investigation.
7.Zones & Safe Areas
7.1
Green zones are crime-free. Spawn points, hospitals, police stations, and marked safe zones: no crime, no initiations, no camping their exits to initiate immediately outside.
7.2
No zone abuse. Fleeing into a green zone to escape an active, initiated scenario is FailRP — the scenario follows you.
7.3
Red zones are hostile. Marked red zones carry implied risk. Initiation is still required, but expect conflict and bring backup.
8.Communication
8.1
In-game voice is your voice. Your microphone is required. Using external voice apps (Discord calls) with in-game players you're actively playing with is metagaming.
8.2
Radio realism. Radios must be acquired in-game. You lose radio access when downed, restrained, or when your radio is confiscated in RP.
8.3
No OOC insults disguised as IC. "It was my character talking" does not excuse personal attacks on the player behind the character.
9.Staff & Reports
9.1
Report, don't retaliate. If someone breaks a rule against you, finish the scenario as best you can and open a report ticket in Discord with clips. Do not break rules back.
9.2
Clips are king. Reports without evidence are hard to action. We strongly recommend recording software at all times.
9.3
Respect staff decisions. Disagree? Use the appeal process in Discord. Arguing in-game or harassing staff members escalates your punishment.
9.4
Punishments scale. Warnings → temp bans → permanent bans, at staff discretion based on severity, history, and intent. Cheating and hate speech skip straight to permanent.
